Hello,

I am a US citizen in a relationship with an Aussie citizen. It is a fairly new relationship (about a month) and I know I can't apply for a partner visa until we've been in a relationship for a year. However, being apart really sucks and I want to live in Australia. I was looking at the Long-Stay tourist visa, but it says you can end up with a “No further stay” at the end of it. My question is, can I apply for the Long-Stay and then apply for the partner visa with the chance of being able to stay the whole time?

Thanks!
