I want to apply for Australian skilled visa. I stand in MODL and have a valid letter from Australian Computer society. I recently appeared in IELTS where i managed to score 6.5 cummulative. However, in one of the bands, i.e Listening, i managed to score 5.5. Can i still apply or i will have to re-take IELTS.

Am i entitled to get some concession as i managed to score 7.5  and 7 in writing and speaking respectively. In reading section, i scored 6.5. To me, this seems to be pretty ok. Can anyone confirm if i can still apply or will have to retake IELTS ?

Hi there,

I think you need to make at least 7 in everything, one you get 5.5 in something 5.5 will be considered and you point for the visa would be less.


What I know is you need to make 6 to earn 15 point or 7 to make 20, 5.5 you have no point for it, see if you get point in other things.


When I came to Australia I didn't get IELTS, I came under skilled visa too, but I got 120 point in another things.
