Australia Migration “out of control”
By administrator | April 10, 2010
Australia’s opposition political party, The Coalition, says Australia will not be able to cope with the future predicted population levels that are estimated to 36 million by 2050 and that increased immigration to Australia is to blame.
The Coalition party have unveiled plans to cut Australia’s migration in take if elected to Government in the next election. Scott Morrison, the Opposition Immigration spokes person says “Australia’s cities will not be able to hand that many people”.
The Opposition Party want the total number of people immigrating to Australia to be cut, including students studying in Australia and people looking to work in Australia.
Scott Morrison, from the Coalition Party said “It is averaging more than 300,000 per year at the moment and when you compare that to the average under the Coalition, that was just over 125,000 per year”.
The Australia Government have a newly appointed Population Minister, called Tony Burke, who says the projected population of 36million is not a Government target. He says future government will take into account the wider issues like infrastructure, transport, water availability and urban planning.
The Australian Industry Goup CEO Heather Rideout says the opposition claims about Australia Migration, in particularly the skilled migration, being “out of control” are “ridiculous”
Heather Rideout said “If we don’t persevere with an immigration intake we’re going to have to pay more tax, we’ll have probably higher interest rates because wages will go up for skilled workers, so it’s not easy just to dismiss this”.
Peter Anderson from the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry agrees, he said “The business community will see a need for a constant role for skilled migration”.
The Australian Government has now suspended the processing of new asylum applications for migrants from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The Australian Government says that the suspension is a result of the evolving circumstances in these two countries. Asylum seekers currently on Christmas Island will continue to have their asylum claims processed.
The situation regarding asylum seekers and illegal immigration via smuggling has resulted in the Australian Government strengthening law enforcement.

This topic needs to be revisited and taken to the media. I’m sick of the current state of australian affairs, the jobless rate is up, the job market on a steady decline. Australia is not coping with the population increase already. the older generation of australian tax payers who have limited pensions are in standing in queues with immigrants that have just been granted residency or visas. We do not have the means to contiune without complete reform of our Centrelink, and health system. Australians are not given reciprocal agreements in any other country yet our govevernment allows the community to stuggle and after recent economical struggle the poverty line increases as more and more jobs are made redundant and visa status candidates are preferred over australians as there is a tax break for companies.
You only have to get out into any community that has a demographic of traellers to find zillions of visa status emigrants who are claiming of the infrastructure without contributing back.
2010 the government was tracking many people overstaying visa and working for cash – yet using all the tax payers benefits.
Then there is the issue of the housing crisis and rising rental rates – yet illegal immigrants are being granted hotel rooms and houses.

The opposition claims are warranted.

All asians and africans( pakis, afghanis, turkish, indians etc. ) should go nowhere. They should not get any visas anywhere. They coming from 3rd world countries, they dont want to adapt, they tend to live in communities. Look at Europe,is going to hell gradually. For europeans is hard to breed 2 childrens and buy their own accommodation, but when asylum seeker comes with 8 kids, they get house, benefits and dont even need to work. Where is the justice???????????? If i go to asia or africa I get absolutely nothing from them(more likely ill be robbed by them). Thanks all europeans governments that you destroying our own land. NO more customs, traditions from our ancestors.Everything is dying slowly and painfully.
